Chances are, if you’re booking a flight to Switzerland, you might be heading to Zermatt, the country’s most famous ski resort. Zermatt sits at the base of the Matterhorn and is a beautiful and sprawling mountain village filled with Swiss-style chalets. Cars aren’t allowed up here, so you’ll have to board the valley’s cog railway after your Switzerland flight. Don’t worry if you’re not a skier, most of the lifts stay open in the summer to allow hikers a chance to view the beautiful Alpine scenery from up high. There is also a riotous nightlife scene and delicious restaurants.
